Try cleaning out the swirl pot as the cheap supermarket fuel can leave a gunk film in the fuel tank.

When you turn the ignition on keep your drivers door open and you should hear the lift pump running for about 5 seconds.(behind drivers side rear wheel)
As for it turning over and over before firing on some cylinders. When was the last time the glow plugs were replaced?
And has anyone put veggie oil in the fuel tank.
Take as much of the plastic cowling off and check the leak off pipes these can affect the engine starting as air will get into the fuel system.
The last thing you want to do is replace the main injector pump

If you go down the DIY route be bloody careful not to disturb anything theres a lot of very sensitive objects in the guts of the pump.
The pump I took to bits was knackered anyway this is why I took photos of it and put it on oof for others to see the guts of it.
I can rest assure it took more than a Saturday morning to strip carefully.
My advice would be take it out and let a bosch dealer fix it or if the leaks not pissing out just live with it for know :y

Just called to Bosch diesel service about the leak.
They said that do not open the cover if opened the
pump must be adjusted , bring the pump here
they put it in bench and adjust it !

I said that only electric cable cover leaks only seal
must renew why need take the whole pump
off you just open 4 screws and renew the seal ?

He explained that to chage the seal wiring must
desolder
first and then cover can be taken off
and renew the seal same time they change all
seals etc would cost about 1000 euros !

What if just loose the cover slighly and but some
glue sealt on the cover ?
Yes you need to de-solder the electrical contacts inside the pump and it can only be done when the pump is removed as you have to dismantle the whole pump to get to the solder ends.
You can replace the seal on the top cover yourself as seen in your photo with the funny shaped bolt.

Alex Salmond is a decent guy at least he had the balls to put his head on the chopping block for what he believed in the last 2 years and he-ho he lost but he would of stood down regardless of the result.
I voted yes but I knew it would be a no vote.
I had the pleasure of being in his company(drinking of coarse) in Linlithgow 20 years ago in the four marys pub and the first thing he said am oot for a drink so don't talk politics.

General Car Chat / Re: Turbo Diesels
« on: 03 August 2014, 10:22:22 »
The turbo on a car engine will spool down almost instantly and the oil is pumped through the turbo bearings at some rate so if you should burst a oil feed pipe you end up with the sump contents on the road pretty fast.
If it were a bigger engine like a train of which ive driven at a railway preservation you always left the triple pump running for at least 2 minutes to let the turbo stop spinning
