Well, i do hell of a lot on the river Lugg in Mordiford near Hereford.
Anyway, I use a carbon 13 foot rod, I have the chance of a 1962 cane rod, its in good condition, just needs some new eyes, Question is, have you had any expierience with cane rods.

Old fashioned "split cane" rods used to be the "Rolls Royces" of rods in the 60's / 70's .. before nylon & fibreglass became the cheaper/better options. A good cane rod, well looked after is strong, flexible and extremely sensitive. Furniture requires replacing every 5-6 years as the whipping usually starts to fray, but that is a nice, satisfying job for the close season. If you get the chance to have a play with it you should find that it is a pleasure to use
