It's already the norm.
Already exists for any goods vehicle over 7.5 ton.
There's going to be a trial on the A9 where vehicles over 7.5t will be allowed to do 50mph as the 40 is causing to many accidents with kamikaze car drivers getting impatient.

No lights on dashboard, car cranks over ok and fires for 1 second or so and then stops.

Not Omega, but the VW forums don't seem to have any thoughts so thought I would try here. If its not allowed then please delete :-)

Many thanks

Steve

The only trouble with Costco is that it's impossible to go in for just a few items ....... it always seems to be £300/£400 when we go  :(
I know the feeling that's why I upgraded to executive and get 2% cash back at the end of march which pays for the next year :y

Omega General Help / Re: Easy start - diesel engine?
« on: 12 February 2014, 09:41:27 »
Is it OK to use easy start on my 2.2dti? If so, where do I spray it?
The car is outside my home, it has been running lovely for weeks now, no problems.
The fuel warning light is on & I knew I was low on fuel - I planned to fill up in the morning.
I've drained the battery trying to start her - the battery is now off being charged & I will try again when it's ready.
I've been down the garage & put 5 litres in with the can. Any advice please?  :-[

No .. NO .. NO

under no circumstances EVER use that unadulterated crap. All you will do is wreck the engine .. perhaps not the first time .. but over time it will kill it.  Dead. Finito. Terminally.
There is an alternative WD40 or carb cleaner up air intake (I use WD40).
Then turn the ignition off and on about 12-20 times(for about 5 seconds each time) this will activate the fuel pump in the tank and fill the fuel filter & fuel lines and saves burning out the starter.
Another point 5 litres of fuel is not enough put 20 litres in.

Omega General Help / Re: x25dt will not rev past 1,500rpm??
« on: 07 February 2014, 19:35:10 »
well i put leak off pipes on tonight and they are spilling plenty. there is an inline filter beside the map sensor with a vacuum pipe in but there is no pipe coming out. any ideas were it runs to?

when you say a pipe from inlet manifold to pump the only pipe i have is the one to the map sensor.

any help appreciated

Don't worry about in line filter it's meant to be open to atmosphere Just DON'T take all the vac pipes off it's a pure s**t of a job working out where they all go :y.
Try removing the vac pipe from below the manifold at num-4 injector and make sure it's clear this controls the boost to the turbo ( use carb cleaner). It tends to gunk up.
Is there any fault code showing up.
If your getting fuel quantity control out off range at the base of the injector pump there's a sensor you can take this out and clean it just be very careful not to damage it.
Also try starting the engine and then unplug the MAF if the engine then runs like a bag of bolts it's ok but if the engine tone stays the same it's knackered

Give it an Italian tune up (2nd gear and red line it briefly) the DPF will be needing a good clean out.
Short runs kill diesels you need to get the cat/dpf hot to clean them out.

General Discussion Area / had a bad day
« on: 15 January 2014, 22:03:48 »
Well it started off by me pulling out in front of a poor chap this morning with my lorry I just couldn't see him as the truck mirror was in the way and as I approached the junction he stayed in the blind spot. :-[ I got out and apologised and explained what had happened (s**ty DAF truck).
Then I took out a wing mirror of an Audi.
Then I ran the wheel nuts up a Fiat doblo illegally parked and the woman driver phoned the police who then booked her for parking on double yellows and causing an obstruction then we were told to swap details. that was the best part of today.
well hope I have better luck tomorrow.

Time for a spanner in the works.
Auto tractor mpg total s*&^e you need a manual.
Best option for you is either a skoda vrs diesel (170 bhp standard) or the A4 tdi S-Line (Skoda being the cheaper with the S-Line engine) don't knock the Skoda because there the Guinea-pigs for VW/Audi or the volvo V70 D5 all three are great on fuel easy 50mpg and all the power you need.
