Omega General Help / Plastic Rocker Covers
« on: 24 November 2012, 21:54:48 »
Evening peeps,
went in to vauxhall today to book the car in, 2001 2.6 saloon, for its birthdAY PRESSIE OF A NEW TIMING BELT £348 FITTED NO PROBS I SAYS.

While i'm here Mr Vauxhall man how much for both of my rocker cover gaskets?
Wait a minute and i'll just check he says, upon return with a somewhat big smile........in excess of £360 Mr Cormie as the plastic covers warp and it's best to renew covers and gaskets........oh and there will be the standard 5 hours of labour to do them................

Firstly folks do they warp?
secondly how long to do them myself?

cheers

Scoot

Looks good mate - Clear side repeators set the silver off well

You can go up to 19s as these fit snuggly under the arches even with 9.5J on the rear I know because thats what I have  ;)
mmmmmhhhh YUMMY lol

Very nice like those wheels. Look even better de-badged  :y :y :y
they came with the car and it's a shame they are curbed to hell....however when they get re-newed I AM NOT going smaller than 18" and if i can get the same ones (TSW) they are getting holden badges put in them...lol

Welcome Scottie, have had a few Vectra B SRi's myself.  In true Meldrew style, I can't believe I drove those things for so many years. Ride is so harsh compared to the magic carpet ride you get in an Omega. Enjoy the ride!!!
can quite happily say after only 2 weeks.....why did it take me so long to get one of these unbelievable quality for the money i paid for it.

Lie flat on your back with your legs in the air (oh err) next to offending wheel. Now in rapid succesion kick each side of wheel as hard as you can.

Not recommended at the roadside but does keep your entire body out of harms way. Oh and make sure you are fit enough  ;D

Go with this one or plastic mallet either side off the wheel rim not the tyre, you might be a tad p'eed off if you have a weak seal of tyre to wheel and end up having to go kwikfit after loosing pressure.
