After a recent power drain my radio now displays radio safe when the car starts every 10 seconds and beeps, if I press main it stops, i read on forum this was known as delivery mode, I dont have the radio code and it doesnt ask for one, the annoying bit is my steering wheel buttons no longer work

Omega General Help / Cutting out when hot no warning lights
« on: 06 February 2014, 18:09:59 »
I recently mentioned I had a bit of a water leak from a blocked scuttle panel that drained my battery, I got that sorted and dried out, put car into a local garage for a slight leak from camshaft cover, ever since getting it back it has been cutting out when hot and refusing to start for ten minutes or so then starts and runs fine.

Reading the forums i get the idea it may be a worn crank sensor, or possibly a knock sensor trapped when they have sorted rocker cover gasket.
Any other ideas as i only get fridays off and dont see daylight the rest of the week.

Omega General Help / Steering remote failure after water leak
« on: 03 February 2014, 19:57:11 »
After recent heavy rainfall I found my omega battery to be dead flat a couple of times, but started and ran okay after a jump, I then noticed a couple of days later that the passenger footwell was water logged, i traced this back to the scuttle panel drain being blocked.
The car seems to okay no, but did die out once when running to dry the carpets, only problems remaining are my steering wheel remote functions have stopped and the radio flashes up safe mode every five seconds but all cd functions work fine and it doesnt ask for a code.

Omega General Help / Re: Rattling door pins (facelift)
« on: 16 May 2013, 20:05:17 »
I havent had the time to take the door card off as yet, working 7 days a week, and would need time for the glue to set.
I did try taking the orange clip out and wrapping three turns of insulating tape around the bottom of the button, this thankfully silenced the noise, but as stated, its the top of the door trim being loose and vibrating that causes the problem, and this still need attended to.

TCU? Traction Control unit

If it had a LSD fitted, they have a lower ratio. Aids 0-60 speed as I found out to my delight, but harm top end speed.

Got one of those on the passenger side, sends me round the bend on a long journey, asked my daughter to stick a bit of cardboard in to stop it rattling, she shoved it between the door fame near the widow and and the door trim, guess what it stopped the trim vibrating and the button rattling.
