Yep, I too have a 2.0ltr exhaust, with a chrome tail.
Had it on for a couple of years now, with no problems.

Hi
When I did mine I did it from the top. Very easy.
Once drained took off expansion tank to allow access and if I remember right moved the servo
vacuum hose out the way. Unclipped the hoses from the heater pipes and then that allows you to twist it
to diconnect the vacuum pipe. Then you only need to unclip the pipe that goes to the engine. The other pipe
you swap over out of the car. It took only about 20mins to swap, then about an hour to top up the coolant
avoiding air locks.

Hope this helps.

I have the 2.2 auto and have towed a far larger van "4 berth series 5 Bailey pageant bordeaux" 23ft, for the last seven years without an extra cooler, and still going with no problems.

Omega General Help / Gearbox selector switch
« on: 17 September 2013, 13:55:05 »
Hi all.
I took it off and cleaned it last year and it has been perfect, until now.
Its doing the same as last time all the lights coming on intermittently.
Now when I cleaned it using switch cleaner should I have put some sort of grease
in there, as I cannot believe its dirty after only 16 months or so.
Or is it a case of the contacts just wearing instead of dirt?.
In which case I will need a replacement.

General Car Chat / Re: Speeding - speed awareness courses
« on: 18 July 2013, 15:15:11 »
I went on one last year.

Point 1 - No idea

Point 2 - No impact on insurance. The speaker specifically told us in no uncertain terms
that we DO NOT have to tell the insurance company we have been on the course even
if they ask.

Point 3 - Boring. Just sit listen nod your head now and then. Its worth it not to have the three points.

Omega General Help / Re: Stuttering at 80
« on: 03 July 2013, 18:40:44 »
I had forgotten to update this topic, so am doing so now.
It seems it was the fuel filter as since I changed it five or six weeks agoI have had no problems at all.
Accelerates well past 90 now smoothly and without stuttering.
Again a job that takes seconds to do, if you discount the ten minutes between taking
the old one off and clipping the new on, due to sticking my head under the tap to rinse all the
petrol out of my eyes :-[.

Omega General Help / Re: Mot fail

I agreed to buy and it doesn't seem right to cancel it.

Also it is a new one and still cheaper than the £75 stealers wanted.
Also promised fast delivery as I have ten days for a free retest.

One bonus is it only takes seconds to change. :), and quite pleased
that was all that was wrong with the car, no advisories even.

It,s the pump.

Ordered one off ebay £40. Seems a lot when the windscreen ones are under a tenner.

Mot tester says he's failed a fair few on this, as it's a relativley new test this year,
and most people are'nt aware of it, me included.

Also thanks for the pics RobG made finding the problem so much easier.

Just failed my mot.
Headlamp washers not working. :(
Is there a known problem or anything in particular I should check first.

Thanks

Engine mounts are OK.

Spireite
Maf sensor. I don't know how to check that.

Less.
Fuel filter. Very possibly I think, as I have never changed it in the five years I have had it.
If when I next use the car (wish I had today as it chucked it down on wat to work and my bike is filthy yet again, after washing it twice last week. Useless weather forecasts) and its still the same after the oil top up I will try that. Probably do it anyway as I don't think there are expensive.

I'm positive its not hitting the rev limiter, I think if it was you wuld be doing well over a ton.
I am hopeing Entwood and symes are correct.
I have checked the gearbox oil level this morning and it was in fact a bit low, about a funnel full.
I topped it up and went for a drive, and although I couldn't find the space to quite get to 80 due to there being more traffic about than a Friday night rush hour, and I live in the country, I got to about 78 and felt confident it was going to be fine.
However I won't be sure till I've got to about 90. I will take it to work next week to try it for certain. Plus we're taking the van next weekend which will be a good test.
I would also just like to have a winge about the pillock who thought it was a good idea not to have a dipstick, and so turn a two second job into half an hour, prat.

No its definatly not a buckled wheel or balancing problem.
Once it starts stuttering it wont go any faster, even with your foot flat to the floor, and as soon as you lift off
it stops.
