Omega General Help / ticking noise with 2,5 td
« on: 18 January 2009, 14:11:21 »
hi,
my 2,5 td started suddenly making a ticking (ratling) noise all of a sudden last night. The noise is const at idle but goes away over 1500 rpm. could the problem be the tensioners, and if so how can i correct it!?  Is there such a thing as a diagram with the tension belt and any possible regulators? the sound seems to be coming from that part of the donc (where the chain is):-/

Omega General Help / Key fob question
« on: 18 March 2008, 15:50:01 »
i have a 2 button key fob and i need to reprogramme it, since it doesnt operate.
It belongs to the car  with the frequency 433.92 (so i guess its radio not IR).
i did a bit of searching about and i see that most of `em are quite simple just enter the vehicle turn the key (but dont start the engine) press the lockbutton it should open and close the locks on the doors. BUT  THIS DOESNT HAPPEN ! Is it possible there is smth else i am not aware off?? Broken??
Its a bosch CDL 147 unit.
CEPT LPD-D/4, MPT 1340 WT LICENCE EXEMT, RTT/D/X1151, E 00 95 0902 // 0398, Bosch RK 129 433,92 MHz
 Any help much appreciated...

Omega General Help / Re: 2.5 TD problems
« on: 19 March 2008, 18:04:25 »
when you say u spotted a fuel leak was that at the back of the engine bay or the rear of the car. From my experience, open the boot lift the mat you will find a circular plate with 3 screws. Unscrew that lid off, get some1 to turn the key (from off position to acc. position-lights go on) whilst you stay at the rear trying to hear firstly, the in tank fuel pump work(u will hear a constant noise for 10 sec or so) and also check for any leaks. If you keep running the car with under 20 lt petrol you will have a prob with this pump. (since it sucks air as well-therefore damages it-)- this could be a reason why it has the start up problem, it could cause problems(cutt offs) whilst driving too.

Omega General Help / Re: how do i handle code 41 on 2.5td?
« on: 19 March 2008, 21:53:59 »
..so i guess (again) that the 3 pin square sensor located next to the power steering fluid container is the one? i saw the small bore pipe coming from underneath the inlet manifold. The thing is that , since it worked as a taxi a lot of these things were "disabled" for someones convenience. Now that i have this car in my hands -as a car and not a taxi- i am trying to "fix" whatever can be fixed.

i have cleaned the inlet manifold and the boost Pipe (i am assuming that that is the pipe from the intercooler -through the plastic decorative right in front[word "TURBO DIESEL" written -and connects to the inlet manifold), still got the code tho, any chance some1 might know where the sensor is???
Thanx

Omega General Help / Re: overheating/diesel pump
« on: 14 March 2008, 13:30:54 »
which fuel pump the 1 in the tank or the 1 up front?did that fix the overheating problem?
from what i know from injection systems there is a flow of petrol that returns back to the reservoir, that is used to cool the system , but i dont know if it applies to TD engines also i dont understand the impact on the coolant-missing.
1 thing else you should check(according to me-no expert) the clutch on the fan-maybe it is slippery and doesnt cool the engine properly...

Thank you for the help. BTW, i have searched for ECU codes for this engine(2.5td) but cannot seem to find `em. Is there a web page in particular you could refer me to, to find them?
Thanx again

Omega General Help / Help with Results from 2.5td `97
« on: 10 March 2008, 15:16:23 »
hi, i just did the paperclip test on an Omega B 2.5td 97 and got these results : 12 41 64 92.
I searched for the ECU fault codes and got these explanations:
12-initiation of diagnosis
41-vehicle speed sensor
64-EST line coil cylinder 1&4
92-camshaft sensor.

If the camshaft sensor is a plastic 2 pin cylinder located under the starter facing the bell housing of the gearbox that has been replaced and i still get the code 92.
As far as the rest go i do not know where they r located or what to look for. Could anyone help please. :'(

Omega General Help / Re: ABS on opel Omega 2.5td
« on: 01 March 2008, 10:28:58 »
Hi, i seem to have a slight problem with the ABS. I Jacked the vehicle  and turned all the wheels manually while the engine was running in turn. The ABS light tuned on ONLY with the front wheels (not the rear). I am aware of the paper clip test, but... there are 2 diagnostic plugs (1 under dash, other in engine bay) dont know which 1 to use??? also i feel i should mention that while i spined the front wheel i heard a noise (of sort - electric motor running for about 2-3 sec)  coming from the ABS circuit, after which it stopped.  Any ideas on what to do next? Any help, would be lots appreciated.

Omega General Help / Re: Regrding 2.5 td engine
« on: 16 December 2007, 16:41:33 »
There is smth that resembles an electromagnetic valve with 2 pins(plug) and 3 pipes coming out of it . 1 with the word "vac" other with the word "out" and third with word "atm". There is also 1 small square sensor with 3 pins(plug) and 1 pipe coming out of its base. In front of the inlet manifold there a reception for a pipe (which would allow part of the exhaust emissions to enter the inlet manifold). There is another receptor for a pipe underneath the inlet manifold. And there is another (actually there are 2-but 1 is used for the heater -as mentioned above) on the power brake pipe. My question is, does anyone know which pipe goes to what receptor?

Thanx
