Omega General Help / air filters
« on: 28 March 2009, 14:50:39 »
Was thinking of buying ripspeed air filter from halfords, would anyone know if this would be suitable for my omega 2.5 v6 in place of the orignal standard box type as fittted with the car.

Got a nice little trip upto scotland with the family at the start of april,so need to put thing's into motion,Cheers for advise :y

If it is that, then the garage can have it rather back and fix it,i've got three months warrenty on it.

5
When you say close to matrix, could it be possible that it's in the matrix or maybe around or in the H.B.V to cause this pressure.

6
Before picking car up,i had them flush the coolant sysytem through as there was only luke warm air through vents. When driving home after picking it up the heater was blowing very hot air through vents, but after a few days and to the present time it is now coming through cold,i agree there may be an air lock somewhere, but when you hear them dreadful words H.g it sends shivers through me. :-/

The rad seems just slightly cooler on one side, but i thought this was what it's job was to do,and that is to slightly cool water when returning.

8
One these mechanic's was vauxhall's,he felt the pipe going into rad and the return coming out and squezed them and there was no play in them + they were red hot and the coolant bottle was highly pressurized so he came to that conclusion?

When i looked the other day,it's was as clean as whistle, have not checked for a day or so,but this problem been with me for some 2 weeks now.

Omega General Help / Suspect Head Gasket,But I'am Not Convinced
« on: 20 March 2009, 18:57:24 »
The currrent state of issues  :High pressure in coolant system.
                                           No water loss.
                                           Runs like a dream.
                                           Coolant good,not contaminated.
                                           No heat coming through heater(cold).
                                           Temp:92-95ish after run.
I've not had sniff test done but both the garages i stopped at said head gasket going, but not convinced,i have no water loss, oil great, has not contaminated water, run's really smooth.Confused slightly, any idea's :-/

Omega General Help / h.b.v query
« on: 18 March 2009, 16:07:21 »
Could anybody help.Just a query really, the h.b.v in my 2.5 v6 may be a fault, have had coolant flush + matrix, when driving, temp sits around 92ish but raises quickly when in slow traffic or when stopped, have poor heat through inside of car + seems highly pressurized on coolant bottle + no water seems to be leaking.Could a faulty h.b.v raise temp of engine or not.CHEERS ;D

Omega General Help / Re: Erratic Temp Gauge ???
« on: 17 March 2009, 10:02:52 »
I had this problem with my mondeo when i had it,when the temp changes does it affect the heating inside the car, does it show very cool when driving and then maybe hot when stopped,if so sounds like sensor has failed. :y
