If anyone can point me to a pdf or a jpg / exploded diagram of how the shocker affixes to the car, then I may be able to hazard a guess at whats bust, the cars gone now and i did not want to blindly jump in with spanners, been bitten before doing that lol

Ok why would a shocker seem to be trying to escape the inner wing to spear the bonnet?

Its got a definite gap between the rubber ring/washer/topnut assembly and the wing/support/hole, about 1/4 inch, when you squat down and look towards it, you can see its shoved through the hole and is about 1/4 to 3/8 higher than the shocker at the other side.

If this was my car, I would be worried to drive it home...

Ok everyone Bri's car has arrived at my house, for some reason I seem to have alot of mechanical knowledge on suspension, must be something to do with what i drive...

Anyhow, taking off the drivers wheel, I notice a bolt that goes through the bush at the rear of the wishbone, it has a nut at the bottom, and possible a bolt that is hidden in the subframe, it would need to 'go up' to release the rear of the wishbone.

Question: do we need to drop front subframe to change wishbones, to get to that bolt?

/not a vauxhall owner(yet), but more time spent under my car that what it deserves...
