surely you would only need a new lock barrel to insert? not a whole handle?? take all handle off, seperate barrel from handle (possible have to cut key?) and refit new barrel into old silver handle. job done?!

hmm..might be the cold bud, have you tried WD40? hope you havent twisted the key otherwise it might be a nasty job. Is there any play in it when you wiggle the key? probably cos it hasnt been used for a long time. i suggeswt a bit of WD40 with the straw nozzle to get right in there. see if that works

Are my heated seats even working on my omega elite? The light comes on but they never seem that warm! I mean they arent gonna be immediate, but after I;ve had my rear sat in them for 10 mins they seem warm but surely thats just my backside? My friend had heated leather in his Calibra and they seem a lot hotter, he in fact needs to turn them off after a while, ive never noticed that much heat. What do you guys think? are they non-functional? what do i do to check them out?

I think you may be referring to the rear side window de-misters. when you switch it on it de-mists the rear side windows. The blower needs to be on too tho

Omega General Help / Re: Dis/Coil pack
« on: 25 February 2010, 15:23:50 »
Yeah guys there are different coil packs! we are supposed to swap each HT lead one by one so as not to get messed up! I got messed up by not knowing about the alternate shape plug on them, i got my car in bits now and found out that the connector is different DOH! rookie mistakes all round then. Hope you get yours sorted and also hoping that I dont forget which way round mine goes by the time the new one comes

wow im not half as technical as some of you guys, but just a thought to add to the mix...i had a hell of a misfire and i swapped the HT leads cos 1-3-5 are the longer HT leads and they run down the back of the engine where it is hottest! have you checked the leads? or did you go straight for the coilpack? as it turned out i needed a coilpack too but i could easily see how the leads might be affected given their position down the back there near the exhaust

Omega General Help / Water pump 3.0 v6
« on: 23 February 2010, 16:18:06 »
Anything special I need to know about before replacing my water pump on the x30xe? Liek for example do I take the pulley before or after the main fixing bolts? I cant see a maintenance guide in here for that. please correct me if im wrong! I got my coolant from vaux and the water pump, and im ready to flush the matrix too. do i want to change the thermostat at the same time to save replacing the coolant a second time? im only a 2-3 spanner man so your help is appreciated
