I have a left hand drive, year 2000 facelift Omega.

From TIS2000, this relay should be behind the fuse box on A-pillar.
The problem is, i only have two relays there. First one is turn signal relay for central lock (Blinks turn signals when you lock the doors) and second one is a buzzer for key-in-door-open.
No empty sockets. Only a bracket with these two sitting.

The problem is with electric windows. Sometimes i need to turn driving lights on and off, before electric windows work.
Sometimes electric windows work without turning the lights on.

Headlights are turning on automatically after engine starts, so it is a bit frustrating to turn them on and off manually just to get windows to work properly.  :-\

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Fusebox on top of the battery.
« on: 18 August 2010, 22:33:54 »
Was looking at the fuse box the other day and saw some oxidation in some of the larger fuses. Don't like it, must clean it...

Any chance for damage if i disconnect the battery first and take the fuses out one by one for a quick clean on the contacts/metal bits?

Or should i just buy new ones and scrap the old ones?  :-X

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CDR2005 / Some rewiring
« on: 03 April 2010, 21:08:37 »
Hi,

I have CDR2005 and i'm planning to improve it a bit.
I don't like fancy displays or settings. Woofer will hide under the shotgun.
So, keeping this simple. :P

The CDR2005 is quite good and those original drivers seem to do Ok too.
The only problem i have is the bass is way too high. It gets distorted easily in the cabin.

What i would like to do is to install high pass filters in the doors cutting everything below 50-100Hz (ish) and use the rear output to input woofer.  :)

I have heard bose sound system in Omega and think it is, well, crap.  >:(
So i will not try to find that system for bolt on installation. :P

Any ideas?
Install filters on the doors or find some room inside the dashboard?
Subwoofer will be something like Focal access bus 20 active subwoofer, or similiar.
I have a 12" woofer already available in the shelf, but i don't think i want anything in the trunk this time.

Omega General Help / Re: anyone a ''how to'' guide on lsd fitting

Sorry to hi-jack, but was it only the MV6 that came with the lsd?
Depends on the market, but i have 2.2 automatic with lsd.
It was common to have those in Finland and in Scandinavia in general.
Helps a bit on the snow. :) Don't know about the UK versions if they have it or not.

Omega General Help / Engine stall after selecting "D"
« on: 13 October 2010, 19:18:22 »
Just happened today. I was waiting my turn on the gas station and inching the car forward when the que moved.
Let it sit on "P" when waiting.

Weird thing happened. The engine stall almost immediately after selecting "D" and moving the car again. It did this only once and had no problems starting the engine again. No limping home-lights or anything.

What happening before this was that i changed winter tyres since i'm expecting snow tomorrow and...
Well i kinda used the kick down twice and then run on the highway about 120-130km/h for 20 minutes.

I noticed the finger hole below the handbrake was getting warm. I have seen that before, but i don't think i have seen that in everyday use on slower speeds.

So, any idea if this stall was a symptom of something expensive or just a random?
This car feels awkward again after changing the tyres, but i guess that is common as it happens twice a year, every year. :P

Omega General Help / Re: Lost a thread about door lock
« on: 18 August 2010, 22:43:36 »
Thank you, but that was not it. :) And cannot see (Or remember wrong keywords) it on the maintenance guide either.

I meant the actual lock cylinder. The thing you put your key in and turn to unlock/open the door.
My central locking works just fine. :)

Omega General Help / Lost a thread about door lock
« on: 18 August 2010, 22:28:29 »
Yep, i saw a thread here about removing the door lock on wagon, taking it apart, cleaning and rebuild.
Mine is stuck. :(
(I know how to remove the door cards and such, but the small lock cylinder i need some information first)

Can someone help me to find that thread? :)

Omega General Help / Estate, Folding backseats not working
« on: 06 May 2010, 21:34:43 »
The small button used to release the backrests are not working. They are not coming back up, but stay jammed down.
Seats won't lock into their place and the center belt is also locked because of that.

Also, only the smaller backrest will fold. The other just folds a bit and then stops at something.

Any ideas?
I'm thinking of removing the seats and taking them apart to see what is wrong, but is there anything else?
(How do you take them off :D )

Omega General Help / Y22XE automatic / Limp home
« on: 03 April 2010, 20:40:56 »
I have a problem with Y22XE engine with automatic transmission.
Randomly, when i start the warm engine, it needs a long starting (few seconds) before the engine starts. When this happens, the engine fault light (the car image with wrench, not the engine image) is lit with the "sprocket" light in the information display.
No problems with cold start, runs nice.

RPMs are limited in ~4500 revolutions. The automatic transmission works, but the car feels "slow"

I've had some past experience with Opel Ecotec engines and if memory serves, this is common with camshaft sensor problems. (RPM limit ~4500)

I found instructions how to change the sensor and how to read fault codes. Unfortunately, the pedal trick did not work.
I have placed an order from ebay for tech2 usb reader and hope it will tell me more, but is there anything else you gurus might recommend for checking?  ;)
