everydays a school day part 263:

so the troubles had nothing to do with religion?
are you smoking crack people?  ;D ;D ;D

stmo's right as i've said earlier the sooner we all wake up and ditch these fairytales about invisible superbeings the sooner we can get on with life - its the 21st century ffs - all these medieval stories were made up to keep the rich and powerful rich and powerful, no one seriously still believes in that bs do they? jesus h christ on a bike. 'kin weirdos

as for wootton bassett, if you think occupying a country and killing 100's and 1000s of men women and children is not going to cause protest then i suggest you're gravely deluded. let people who disagree with the government protest freely - in case you're wondering its a basic tenet of living in a democracy - i think some of you would rather a police state, i have more faith in the strength of our democracy and right of free speech - i really would doubt its going to collapse so lets not go nuts  :y

Would you care to expand on that Bj as you're very much mistaken :( :(

You've got that one right :y

let people who disagree with the government protest freely - in case you're wondering its a basic tenet of living in a democracy

You've have this one right as well - for the most part.

If the protest is deliberately designed to engender either civil disturbance or public ill-will by its composition, location or way in which it's intended conduct is planned to unfold then there are very good reasons to disallow that protest.

i think some of you would rather a police state, i have more faith in the strength of our democracy and right of free speech - i really would doubt its going to collapse so lets not go nuts

Again correct for the most part.

Sometimes authority must be applied to control the possible outcome of intended acts - rightly so.  The privilege of free speech should be jealously guarded in our country as there is little of it to be had in those distant lands to where many of these protesters pledge their allegiance.

"A senior police officer has called for a provocative march by Islamic extremists through Wootton Bassett, the town renowned for honouring Britain's war dead, not to be banned amid fears it could further inflame tensions."

Wait a second. If he feels that way he should make his feelings known confidentially to the Home Secretary. Going public in this way makes me ask:
"What's it got to do with him?". Senior police officers publicly pontificating over a what is essentially a serious socio-political issue is truly wrong, IMHO.

That's the trouble nowadays, if you want to get ahead in modern policing - get quoted.

A shameless example of political manoeuvring, the lure of the exalted position within the higher command structure is too much for some to ignore.

The term panderers and whores to self-serving greed and ambition, would accurately convey my thoughts on this matter.
