Drivers door has developed the check-strap issue
« on: 08 April 2009, 21:45:29 »

Guys back in september,  i applied the recommended fix even though neither door had been noisy, as detailed here - http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152902108

over the last few days my drivers door has started the dreaded clicking when opening

Any pointers ?

Probably just the plastic bushes, same noise on mine was cured and has been fine since.

I take it the clicking is at that end and not in the door.

Were enough weetabix used to tighten the bolts?

They can start clicking again if they work a litte loose.

I would try a quick tighten first.

I have changed the bush about a year ago and have again the problem/noises. Tried to put a new bush without any change. Seems that the bolt has worn. Or the hole in the strap. Has anyone made a replacement bushing out of brass/some other materila? Does it have to be the plastic one which wears in a few months? Any other ideas to make it better than new?
