No idea about torque settings, but as you say you're screwing it into an ally fitting on a thin walled ally pipe so go easy, little more than a nip is needed - the green Viton O ring is doing the sealing. There's a union underneath for a spanner (17mm  :-/ 19mm  :-/) to support the pipework while you remove or refit the fill valve. When tightening the valve up just remember that apart from the hassle of fitting the pipe, it's over £100 to buy new. That alone should prevent you from over tightening it.  :y :y :y :y

Hence the question!  :) It was pretty tight to get off but I think that was just age!! (Tighter than I think it should have been - it was a white and three reds to shift the bloody thing!!)
