TID Removal and replacing
« on: 14 May 2011, 15:58:53 »

If i remove the TID from my dashboard, can i replace the clocks without the TID, and still use the car, without any detrimental effects(warning light etc)

The theory being i can then fix it at my leisure, and replace.

On a secondary note does anyone have, or know of where i can source a known good replacement? Early type(Yellow & Black plugs) i think?

Yes, you can leave it out. Early replacements in full working order are scarce

Given your taking it out, it must be annoying you, so why not chance a repair?

The repair was my intention, i just wanted to know if i could still use the car without any detrimental effects, or had to lay it up while i repaired it.

Thanks for your help

Ok,
Removed the TID/MID did exactly as the guide suggested. Unfortunatly it seems to have had no little/a negative effect.

So where can i get another(yellow & Black plug) TID?
