Confussed.  ???

I unplugged the MAF started her up drove down the road and the car is like a rocket, MPG good to, no cutting out.

I thought the MAF unplugged would cause car to run with no power?

With the MAF unplugged the ECU goes into 'limp home mode' & uses a default map. It should run even better with a good MAF :y

To be absolutely certain that the MAF is guilty you need to get the live readings read by someone with Tech2 or a good code reader.

Did you fit a genuine MAF last time?

All sorted now thanks, with the MAF unplugged it did not revert to limp home mode, I have had that a few times it's like pulling off with one cylinder firing.
The car is spot on with it unplugged so when my GM MAF arrives I will look forward to what people are saying will be an improvement  :y
But to be fair it runs as good unplugged as when I first had it can't fault the performance as I beat a golf off the line today  ::)
