Didn't I read about some privacy issues with Gmail recently?
Don't know about any issues as such, but Google are changing their privacy policy shortly.

It is suggested to use WEP...

Might as well turn security off, then. ::)

does your home wifi have access control enabled???    the iPhone's MAC address will have to be "enabled" in the permitted users/devices  management on the router if so.

my iphone has no problem sending and receiving email anywhere,  whether on wifi or 3g ,  and no problem with WEP or WAP on our BT home hub 3 Wifi router.....

so  it's not a general thing.......    it's specific to you....

maybe your iphone just doesn't like you ???? ;D

As Kevin says, if you do drop back to WEP then you might as well invite the whole street to rinse your connection because it can be broken in under a minute with ease.

If your router has WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) then I would advise you disable that as well, because that can also be exploited using brute force to obtain your WPA/WPA2 passphrase in a few hours.

I hope there is not an exam after all this!!!
