Broken door strap
« on: 10 April 2012, 15:31:27 »

Hi, has anyone out there ever repaired a broken door strap? Mine looks as if it has been ripped out of the door, disconnected from the door pillar and stuffed back in the door (there is something loose in the hole but I can't fish it out), if there is someone that has managed it, is it a pain to do?
Cheers,
Andy

Join the club i've had 2 tie wraps holding my door as a check strap for a while now. Got the plates to do it just haven't had the chance to get the door off and sort. Roll on the decent weather!!

Trust me it needs the door off to be able to sort it. Ive tried doing through just the door card but it needs the metal bending back into shape to be able to sort it and i cant get enough leverage that way. Not too hard to get them off.

The door can remain in situ ............ did my driver's door years ago. Just sandwich the broken door skin with the plates.  :y :y
