Hope you feel better soon Tony x :y

Hopefully this won't put you off motorbikes for too long Tony. Most people who ride bikes will have either fallen off or being knocked off at some point, carrying their battle scars to prove it.
I have thought for years that anyone wanting to use the roads should first ride a motorbike/scooter for twelve months before being allowed to get behind the wheel of a car. I honestly think this would make people more aware of motorcyclists.
I am not however saying that accidents are all car drivers fault.

Our generation, we had to do that for financial reasons. Doesn't seem so common now.  I think being a motorcyclist gives you far more awareness of things going on around you, and potential upcoming dangers.

As you say, not always a car's fault - bikers are more than capable of falling off without help.
