Had a little smile though... He only started for me officially on the 1st and had to give me his P45 from last place. Handed it over and said "shall I just keep this?" ;D ;D

At the end of the day, no-one was hurt and no damage other than the van. Not a major drama ::)

I bet the guy was devastated at the thought of ringing the boss to say he had pranged the van at such an early stage...... :( :(

Pretty much ::) I like to think I'm pretty fair though, and he'd calmed right down by the time I left him after checking the van was still safe to use :y He's offered to pay for the repairs/excess but I said we'd chat about that later. At the end of the day, it's only a bit of tin that's damaged and (fortunately ::)) it looks like I should be able to repair it for a reasonable price. The cill damage is going to be hardest to sort because it's creased at the top, but I think a slide hammer will get the worst of it out and then a bit of P38 and some rattle cans and that will be fine. replace the sliding door with a 2nd hand one and re-apply the sign writing and job's a goodun :y

The killer will be the time TBH... Going to be at least a day's work just to sort the door because of having to get to it (removing equipment etc) and another day putting it back together, plus 48 hours for the sealant to cure properly, plus the paint and sign writing... Probably going to be off the road for the best part of a week (although I may well do some very long days to try and speed it along) so I'll have to get hold of a spare/another van first. Might do it before I take the next bloke on ;)

"new" door will (hopefully) be in white anyway ;) Paint is on the cill ;) As for the sign writing... Probably have to do the entire side of the van from the b pillar back to get it lined up, but hopefully not :y That's the easy bit anyway... Just Vinyl transfers :y

Paul, what is the range of your franchise?

My area is basically from the A120 to the Thames, Bounded by the North Circular (A406), M11 and the sea :y There's a little bit I don't cover in that and I also cover all of Braintree but pretty much it :y

I'm also taking on the bit between the M11 and the M1 (not inside the M25) and North Kent :y

What would you need to be covering the North East?

I was thinking that too... But I've just rattled off a quick PM with the basics and my number (again) if you want to chat ;)

I'm not available to talk on Friday evening but other than that, pretty much any time :y
