i was showing my dads mate my car (pikey) keeped saying to me that dont fiddle with the ecotec as i might as well send it to the scrappy. now how true is that? also with people with 2.2dti"s what have you done to yours

Don't fiddle with the Ecotec? That's just a name given to a range of engines down by GM. So you can fiddle with that as much as you like

lol dont want a dump valve that makes much noise to be fair and no just thought it would make a difference only experimenting

All that would match the size of your tailpipe in the gallery section

I'm guessing he's probably referring to the notoriously fragile Bosch vp44 injector pump, people say it's best not to tune or chip these engines for fear of upsetting said piece of electronic trickery.
S'not like the good old days of the Isuzu lump fitted in the Cavalier, fiddling with the fuel pump diaphram and turning up the pressure screw used to give very good results, if wheel spinning every where was your thing...

Bigger turbo= I don't know. Why would you, you'd only get more turbo lag.
Dump Valve= Don't be daft 
Bigger Inter Cooler= You could, because there's lots of room down infront of the rad, but rooting the pipes would be a major problem as there's no way through without major chopping & re-moving of parts.
It would also be a good option if it where possible, because the current set up is a laugh. How in the hell is a Intercooler supposed to work when it's seated behind a radiator & condensor. Air flow, what air flow 
If you want more power, you need to remove the cat & the silencer box just after it & re-map it too. It works well with mine
