i think the Omega is the most relaxing car Ive ever driven ,so i drive accordingly . I suppose if i had bought a v6 i could have had the best of both worlds , cruiser and hooligan in one complete package

Only time I've ever seen you on the road was going up the M6 to the lakes last year.  That was a nice gentle cruise (didn't dare speed up, as mine was a bit tail happy with all that weight and duff shocks).

Precisely. Relaxed, rapid progress, no fuss and certainly not thrashing it. Besides, motorways are boring so it's best to get them over with quickly IME.  :-X

Thing is, that sort of progress way have been 'pushing' lesser cars, but good ol' V6 makes it effortless, and soaks up the miles with ease.  Its a sensible cruiser. Until you get it around the lanes  :-X

Yep. I have to use cruise control for that reason. Every other car I've had has seen me accelerating to "engine's not liking this" speed and then backing off 10 MPH. Normally that's not too illegal if at all. I haven't found such a speed in the Omega yet. I do know that if it's got one it's well into 3 figures. :-X

As mine has been to Europe a few times, and I have my own private test track, I too have tried to find such a speed, but failed.  My 3.0 runs out of decent acceleration when it pops into 4th with pedal to the metal, and the next 10mph takes a while.  Never had enough clear, straight road without limits to get beyond that in this car...

Yep. Mine too. It "feels" like it's not accelerating once it's in 4th but that's more a symptom of how quickly it accelerates in 3rd, IMO. It certainly doesn't feel like it's in danger of maxing out any time soon...

what turned me on to Omegas in the first place was a ride in a 3.2 traffic car.If the speedo was calibrated correctly i should have changed my boxer shorts at 145 and there was a bit more to come

Usually depends on mood but very difficult to drive my MV6 slowly. ::)

The only thing that really slows me down is fuel consumption!! :'(

Spare a thought for me and what my car says about me.... :-[

Driving a diesel Passat fast is an exercise in futility.
It takes forever to get to any decent speed, and when you do get there it is so damn noisy you back off before something breaks/falls off!

After fuel pump broke impressively I got another Passat, this time a shiny new estate.... it broke 3 days later!

Now got a brand new diesel golf.... I miss cars with power!  :(

So, yes, my car makes me embaressed and drive like a pensioner.

Reminds me. Must put the Led Zep back in before the journey home. Mrs. KW drove it a couple of weeks ago and filled it with easy listening rubbish. Amazing how I can drive around with a CD changer full of rubbish for so long and it never occurs to me to pull over and change the CDs.
