never use a grinder without glasses i spent 4 hours in a+e on satureday having a piece of metal removed not fun got a job to see now with the left eye not fun for two minutes on the grinder  >:( >:(
You wally! ;D

Why risk sight and ability to earn a living for the sake of two seconds and a pair of bins? Or what ever else is appropriate for the job in hand.

Hope it's not serious. ;)
just a bit red now just got to put anseptice cream in every 4 hours which is a pain in the bum :y :y

Had to take a fellow workmate to hospital last yr. He was cutting a steel beam with grinder and the blade exploded. Chunk of it went right into his face just between his top lip and his nose. Not a pretty sight, he had to get plastic surgery to reconstruct that part of his face. He had goggles and gloves, hard hat etc but wasn't enough, can never be too careful with these things!!

Glasses are no good for grinding. The sparks can bounce off your cheek & get behind them. Always use goggles for grinding & always unplug the grinder when changing a disc :y

I worked with a bloke a few years ago who had a massive scar that ran up the centre of his chest and up the side of his neck...  :o It was caused when he started a 9" grinder and didn't have a proper hold on it, so it kicked back and ran up his chest and neck!!!  :o :o :o
