Are you a member of a breakdown/recovery service who could recover the car home for you ?

Assume you are not a member of 1 of the recovery services..AA...RAC...or similar,as they would offer a recovery services back to your home.

Think even if a member of your family has cover and is a passenger ( used in the loosest possible sense  ) then worth seeing if you could get the car back home that way..plenty of options of help around your part of the country then

If he gets it from where it is to Staffs,it should be reasonably easy to get it to Stoke.Daz may even be able to collect it or get it collected.

I can prob get an engine fitted in west sussex this weekend for about £200, if you can get one.

IF the car is a manual then it can be put on our A frame and towed to Dartford for the work to be done, but of course it would need collecting from there.

There are a few breakers near me but of course buying an engine from a breaker is a largely unknown quantity so a cambelt kit is a definite need.  Not too sure on prices off the top of my head but allow another £200 for a kit from a local factors.

That all totals £350 (assuming we get the same price on an engine) without allowing for an oil change or fresh antifreeze.

Pm Robseymv6 he's in Sussex area, he can tow I'm told, swap engines etc. ....if available. Maybe?

Join the AA, get it towed to Daz or one of the mechanics on here.
Exchange a few quid and get a perfectly running car back

A quick update I've sourced a low mileage engine and the local garage have agreed to fit it and do a cambelt change and keep the costs down for me as it seems they are fans of the car and couldn't bear the idea of it being binned off!
