maf and ecu
« on: 26 September 2012, 12:37:05 »

Hi The saga of my maf continues, been tested on tech 2 apparantly  no faults found, no wiring fault found between maf & ecu, been suggested it,s ecu. Anybody got any ideas, all set to get rid. 2.2 petrol auto 2001 model 86000 miles.

Have you put on the genuine MAF twiglet offered?

I've seen pattern cats on 2.2, they look and sound shite. I also notice on one recently it had no pre-cat sensor, wonder if thats affecting things  :-\

Was the tech 2 test checking live data or did they simply look for fault codes.

It needs a proper live data analysis with the MAF readings being observed, I would expect the MAF value to either be to high or to low, this would not raise a fault code though

Read Tunnies reply to my problem, just been & had a look can only see one sensor on the cat. I had the cat replaced a little while ago & I supplied the mechanic with 2 sensors genuine, he supplied the cat I'm suspecting he has fitted the wrong cat, could this be the case. Ican see one through the engine bay just below the manifold, where should I be looking for the 2nd.
