The Panasonic Viera's are one of the best around at the moment:

http://www.totaldigital.biz/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=4377&zenid=crsopp6mc0i93bkufj81fcrvi3

All with five year warranty included to

I learned in the hard way that this word does not mean the same for you and the producer firm (may be not all but most)  ;D >:( >:( :-X

It can be very dependent on local law Cem, here in the Uk the consumer is pretty well protected  :y

their first response is to take your tv and never bring it back >:( >:(

Did I not hear Panasonic is to leave TV market? To focus on tablet panels instead?

That is kinda worrying :-*  ... Samsung is the biggest TV maker at the moment according to Which.co.uk and they recommend this TV in my price range  Samsung UE32ES6300  :-\

Its a possible, Panasonic make very few panels for others (Samsung and LG have the share there with Samsung Sharing/licensing technology and plants with Sony - soon to end though) and wish to get volumes up.

This may mean the move away from the Tv market and just supply the panels to others (they have some very good tech) but unlikely to happen in the short term. A killer for Panasonic is the death of Plasma which is a technology they heavily backed

I suspect they may stop investing in the latest tech and effectively phase out through obsolesence effectively....but this would liekly be way beyond anything affecting a purchase now or in the short term.

Time will tell!

As long as the reviews don't bring up any horrific points (like dying after a few months, or only displaying QVC), just get stuck in and buy one.

I umm-ed and ah-ed for a week when it came to chuck the CRT away a few years back before realising quite a few of these TV reviews / articles / forum posts are made by people who have way too much time on their hands.

I would not recommend 3D on a 32" tv unless you are sitting very very close, the neighbours 42" 3D telly looks odd as it is.

BTW I have an LG 32LH7000 and it's been grand.

Make sure you get one with an Ethernet connection on - that way you can access the web for various things like the iPlayer. Have it on our LG (from Richers) and use it regularly.

However, be very careful with Panasonic models as their iPlayer access was only added recently - so check specifically that it has this. Some older models which they might want to shift cheap might not have iPlayer access. A simple Google search will sort you out.

You can also get a wifi module for some - but I'd go for a wired connection every time.

Whichever model you get, it will be virtually certain to do a software update as soon as you connect it on line. That's fine as it will have been many weeks/months since it was made due to shipping etc and will update to the latest version. My mates Panasonic was introduced to the web for the first time recently and took about 10 mins to update as soon as it was plugged into his router.

Iplayer gets added as part of the online software download:y

Do check for built in wifi, most onclude this now but some older models requrie a dongle.

As already psosted, the panasonic I listed has the 5 year warranty and built in wifi (or wired).

Only on models built after a certain date actually, some time during 1st Q of 2011. My mates was built in Jan 2011 and although it had a huge leap forwards in terms of SW releases it wasn't capable of iPlayer - Panasonic confirmed this and it's quite well known if anyone cares to Google. As I said, should not be a problem with new purchase - unless it's been in stock for almost 2 years .....

Get one that's really smart. Then you won't have to post your questions on here.  ;D
