I've just replaced the powersounder and alarm horn on my car as the powersounder batteries were dying and the circular horn on the last one never worked .
So when i plugged in the powersounder it started going off and kept going off dispite locking and unlocking the car several times .
It did stop going off eventually however and i thought thats fine .
So now if i lock the car using the fob then open with the key i now get a honk from the HORN every second or so until i press the fob again ... i assume this is how it should be ?
So when should the powersounder go off though .... it used to go off at silly o'clock for no reason ... how do i test it to see if its working properly though ? Do i have to disconnect the battery for it to go off ?
Dont really want to do that just now though as im at work

Should never hear the powersounder unless someone tries to disconnect the battery ?

Mmmm well i went to start the car this morning and let it run to warm up when the alarm power sounder goes off as soon as i turned the key .
Still went off when key removed and locked unlocked etc .
Eventually stopped .
Maybe the powersounder was flat and still needs charged up ??

Proz, I'd remove your sounder. And check alarm activations with tech 2, to confirm loopy ps.

Proz, I'd remove your sounder. And check alarm activations with tech 2, to confirm loopy ps.

Thats probably why your PS goes off instead, as it detects fubar horn

Bit late now but the recommended thing to do with a power sounder is remove it from the car and dont replace the dam fire hazzards,lots of threads about them,ive had 1 car go up in flames due to a dodgey sounder.
