Facelift door lock
« on: 06 December 2012, 21:29:08 »

Just had the new (to me ::)) facelift estate delivered & have found a number of jobs need doing!
The most urgent is the drivers door lock. All the doors open with the remote except the drivers side front The lock button is stuck in the down position & will not budge. I can open the door by forcing the key past its normal position and it locks with the key also but it is annoying! Is this a fubar motor or something else ???
Any help will as always, be very gratefully received  :y

Maybe, but not difficult. You just need to make sure that all the push/pull rods are connected up ....... and don't forget the rod from the outside handle, otherwise you've to start again ..................... apparently!  ::)  ::)  ;D

I must admit, I've not done a door lock, but if you need another pair of hands and/or tools I'm only up the road. With tea making facilities :y

Classic mistake is to put it all back together but not connect the exterior door handle rod.  ::) Not that i've ever done that before more than once.  ::)

It's a nice easy job and the motors are interchangable from passenger to drivers side ;)

My understanding is that they are different...

...from memory only the drivers door has six pins.
