Non starter
« on: 24 December 2012, 18:14:50 »

Just came back home and car was running fine. Gone out to it now and it turns over brightly and quickly as usual but the car n spanner light is permanently on.

I think from previous posts, that's going to be a sensor ?

Grateful of any advice as I have breakdown on the way shortly and don't want to be told a load of old rubbish !

Thank you and happy Xmas.

Sounds like the keyfob has lost it's syncronisation with the Immobiliser, have you opened the keyfob for any reason i.e. to replace the battery? It may be the Immobiliser Chip has fallen out of the keyfob :-\

Thanks for your replies guys.

Andy, no i haven't been fiddling with the key and the light is permanent but she won't start.

Seems like a trip to the dealers on Thursday or try AndyC's parts dept.

Thanks for reading and taking the time to reply.

PS.. Cheeky git from recovery firm on being given the info of what i thought may be wrong said don't carry parts and we'll cancel the call !

I've insisted that they come now, just for the hell of it.  :y

Tunnie, I'll let you know .........apparently will be with me within the hour and I've been advised in the most recent call to stand away from the car and as far up the hard shoulder I can safely go.

The car is on my driveway in a cul de sac ...................

Do be prepared for the possibility that it will start and run fine by the time it's cooled down while waiting for 'recovery'.

But don't be tempted to drive it anywhere much until you have a new genuine sensor.
