The Sport and Ice mode will not work when the car is in limp mode.

The car will act as if it is in Ice mode, pulling away in 3rd gear.

You can however use 1st and 2nd gear by manually selecting them with the gear lever.

Oh right cool thank you. I can use 2nd gear manually but when i put it in 1st gear it moves for like 2 secs then revs like it has came out of gear or something is telling it to do something.

Merry Xmas hon member, I had the same prob with my 2.2l 2001 z22xe, in most cases it could go in limp mode and for long period I thought it was a gearbox prob. And one of the mechs also confirmed to me that it was the gbox and needed to replace it. But one day as I started off it went in limp mode, I stopped switch off the engine for few seconds and start off again then surprising the limp mode was gone. After that, everytime it went into limp mode I could stop and restart the car and it could come out of limp mode. Sometime later one member instructed me to change the cam sensor, then after changing the cam sensor the prob was gone till now, that was ten month ago. So better think of the cam sensor mate. :y

I'm doble sure the s was affected, whenever mine went into limp mode s could not be engaged, but not sure about the 1st gear, however I could engage the 1st gear manually, thanks mate.

Ya fingers crossed, as long as its a genuine sensor becoz when I was replacing mine, the one which was there looked very new but was a fake one, so fake sensors really gives problems. Its good that you're buying from the dealer, cheers! Merry Xmas. :y :y

Your symptoms are not Cam Sensor.
