i need to remove ignition barrel on the escort,can some1 please tell me how to remove it,had a quick look this evening,as getting it ready to swap over ecu etc,thanks

How old, older ones where Key in and theres a small pin on the side of the barrel, cant remember if you need to push it in or pull out, think its the first.

I think you need to first remove the shroud then put the key in turn to first position and then underneath there should be a pin, push this in with the aid of a pin punch and pull the barrel out with the key at the same time, thats if my memory is right.

As above but isn't there a grub screw as well 'long time since I've pulled one of these

no grub screw on the mk6

A length of scaffolding will do the trick

found it,barrel removed now waiting for delivery of new ecu etc

it lives again,but now heater blower doesnt work on any speed,another problem to sort out
