Suddenly stiff gear selector
« on: 03 February 2013, 08:03:35 »

Hello all
As above I went to work last night and all was well. Gear lever didn't feel any different putting it into park before leaving car.
This morning I climbs in the car to be greeted with a really stiff gear selector.
It's not the lock thing that stops it moving unless foots on the brake though.
It's just like its really stiff. It will go into all positions and the car drives fine but now I'm worried about this gear lever.
I now live in the middle of nowhere and depend on the car more than ever.
Could it be as simple as removing the gator in the cabin and lubricating the selector ?

I hate cars  ;D ;D

How cold was it over night :-\ Probably worth lifting the surround just to check for anything obvious :y

This might be of use...

The car was inside a garage type place so wouldn't have been too cold.
I did lift the surround and had a quick look but it was kind of still darkish so once fully daylight I'll look again.
Cheers
