I doubt the water pressure hits 1 bar, unless the HG has failed...

Some (most) jubilee clips are crap.  Some are very good, and wider so can exert more pressure over a larger area.  Mikalor are good, I'd say JCS and Norma are better. Get ones that only just fit. Or use non jubilee type hose clips like these:

or these:

Search ebay for hose clips they will all come up.

Yep, proper hose clips are better but still not the perfect solution.

you could use these.....

http://www.normagroup.com/kunden/norma/ttw.nsf/id/EN_NORMACLAMP_S_SP_SD

The problem with Jubilee-type clips is that they pull up around the worm, leaving a leak path.

There's a reason why manufacturers don't use them on new cars

But, to answer your question....

Yes 2woody describes it well. It might also be a case of cheap jubilees. The clamp holding the worm is slightly bulbous to the rest of the clamp, so leaves a slight step, and hence a leak path again.

I do remember Markdtm discussing the poor properties of Jubilees, and why car makers don't use them. His words raining in my ears as I fitted the poxy things, with no other options at the time. :(

Could it not be the type of join that is wrong
As already said the gm hose clips are superb for water
Perhaps a banjo type connection would be better
Say similar to the 2 fuel pipes to the plenum
