Whilst I have no issues, for or against, fox hunting, I would like to shoot all spectactors, who think its OK to block the roads because they are too lazy to park safely and walk.

so thats the chavs sorted, can we sort the fox problem now?

if the daft sods stopped feeding them they would not be so unafraid of man,
foxes in the wild keep well away.

Quite frankly I don't know why people are so suprised.  Even when fox hunting was legal their population was growing in urban areas.  After the ban their population has exploded as they have no natural predator anymore (we killed them all donkeys years ago)

If the public does not want to allow hunting with dogs then another equally (or more) effective method of population control must be implemented, or these types of incidents will only increase.

My personal feeling - licensed hunting, with a suitable high powered rifle outside of breeding season with careful control of the numbers culled.  They must not be eradicated, simply controlled through extensive consensus of the local natural population.  Frankly, the townies need to leave the countryside folk who know what they are doing alone to do what they do best.

You can hunt with a rifle and the relevant permit/permission and on private property ;)

The problem is the abundance of "Easy" food in towns ::)

I'm just the stupid kid, but I recall a discussion with some silly bint from the council when we went to fortnightly collections, and she denied it would cause a rise in fox numbers coming into town. Silly cow, typical council manager, thick as 2 short planks.

The hunts dont kill as many as they did, due to the do-gooders. And they never killed enough anyway.

As to the little brat who got attacked, I'm not sure we've heard the truth yet ;)

My thoughts exactly ;)

We have problems where I live. Only yesturday My neighbours dog had a stand off with a fox for the dogs dinner bowl. Trouble was the bowl was on the kitchen floor and the fox jumped over the bottom half of the slpit back door. One less fox to worry about though dog killed it.

Quite possibly. :y

Imo though,a cull is needed for the urban ones. They are a real problem.Dont mind rural foxes (as long as numbers are controlled).I spend many hours at work watching one on the cameras. Its usually mre interesting than watching whatever crap is on TV.

I went Fox-hunting in Australia once and what a laugh that was!!!  :y

4 blokes, a Toyota pickup, 2 rifles, a powerful spot lamp, and an 'Esky' full of coldies!! We didn't shoot any foxes, but I nearly bagged a sheep!  ::)  Luckily I missed but I was still demoted to the spot lamp by my farmer friends!!  ;D

I think instead we should have a cull of humans. Foxes have every right to life, just as we do. They're doing what comes naturally, looking for food. As stated, one factor is the usual selfish slobbish and lazy actions of humans and their habits which increases the likelihood of fox/human interaction. Just because humans are (in some cases) more intelligent than animals, and some have better and more sophisticated (allegedly) methods of communication than animals doesn't mean humans have the right to kill animals who are an inconvenience or seen as 'vermin'. Humans don't have the ability to live in harmony with their surroundings, ever expanding and resource consuming. This is the problem.

We don't know the full facts, only what we hear on the 'news' and in the 'media', which is all designed to help control us anyway, but on the face of it, why the hell was a young baby left unsupervised with an open door/window in the house.

It's not too long ago there was a thread about the potential killing of sharks that had attacked swimmers and surfers, and IIRC the general jist of that thread was that the surfers etc had entered the sharks environment and a two foot wife razor sharp mouth biting them in half was to be expected. Rightly so. What's the difference with foxes? The habitat they once had and shared with all has been turned into a concrete jungle, so what are the foxes to do, migrate?
