Oh booger.....
« on: 22 February 2013, 20:26:00 »

The trusty steed has been sidelined pretty much for the past couple of months with only the occasional airing to keep things ticking over. Today was one such day.

Got a couple of suspicious little misfire/not happy hiccups on the way home from work and eventually threw the management light on after several flashes.

Car idles like a bag of spanners in a washing machine and quite down on power.

Did the pedal trick when I first got in and got 304. Just confirmed it by plugging the box of tricks.

Not lifted the bonnet yet but it looks like watching the rugby on the telly may get sidelined.

Ho Hum!!   :(

Has it been (kept) out in the weather, or under cover?

Aeye, water lands on pot 6 of pas coil PAC and runs back and forth along until it either evaporates or sinks into the plug wells past the cp seal.

Drivers side favourite is the wiper spindle directly above pot 5.

Just one to look for. :)

It would be awkward side ;D

Unclip top off wiring tray (its brittle, be careful), remove wiring tray.
Remove oil filler neck, and then put yellow cap directly on cam cover. Stops shite getting in engine.
You may need to undo vac from plenum - no usually necessary.
2 bolts hold CP in place, remove.
Unplug connector at rear of CP.
To remove CP, screw in 2 plenum bolts about 5 turns, and pull up on these bolts.

Refit is reverse...  ...though I never refitted cable tray, so I can change plugs that side in 15mins (remember I have LPG shite in the way as well)

About 30mins, fiddly bit is unclipping cable tray.

Both trims both banks were 0. Not going to do anything to it this weekend due to the rugby, lack of replacement parts and availability of the disco as the daily driver.

I know, lazy shiyte...     ;D
