So thats:

Spark plugs.
coil pack.
fuel filter.
o2 sensors.
cam sensor.

Code reader with live data might be worth sticking on the shopping list.

the sump was full of s..t. causing low oil pressure on tick over causing it to go into limp mode by shutting the injectors down giving the code multiple misfire. thats my theory. gonna clean all the oil ways and put it back together. fingers x it will cure it.  :y :y :y :y :y

I fear you may need to cross more than that,

Low oil pressure won't result in the ecm shutting down cylinders.

What's the service history like?

The crudd is Mayo due to water mixing with the oil

I'm confused  ::)

This thread was talking about a misfire and various sensors... then a load of pics of what looks to be gummed up valve cover and a bent oil filter (?).

Can someone explain what's happened :)

So, some oil contamination (water), this has clogged things up and the oil pump has collapsed the oil filter its so clogged.

Oil filters normally collapse due to crudd and not Mayo hence question about service history

And the customers stupidity has come home to roost.  :y

Servicing as we all know is a major requirement for valid reasons with the consequences being very serious.

The issue I have is that the question regarding where the water has come from remains unanswered and if it was oil starvation then it would have been noisy (top end, chain rattle, big ends) plus oil starvation won't cause a miss fire.....so keep us posted
