Lizzie's Computer Repair Procedure
« on: 08 March 2013, 18:35:36 »

My PC has  over the last week been playing up.  Three times it cut out with the power going off after going into standby. Once it also cut right out whilst working on a piece of written work.

I was not happy, and as most know I have no problems using a computer, but understanding how they work; well forget it!! ::) ::) ::) :P

So my repair procedure to cure my PC problem?  Call an engineer?  No way, it would be as bad as putting my miggy into a dealer for repair! :o :o :o :o

Instead I treated it like a naughty child..................giving the tower three hard smacks!

All working fine now! ;D ;D ;)

It is Del. :y :y

I am going to write up a manual; front, middle, and back page will just show a hand with a full description of the angle and mathematical explaination of the "repair procedure" ;D ;D ;D ;)

Yup is is the part that you plug the power lead into and it has a fan unit on it and a shed load of wires coming out, they are reasonably easy to change, if you can do a dis pack on a miggy then it should be a sinch.  ;) :y

Thanks Kevin :y :y

If my "repair" doesn't last I'll do that.  Funnily enough the fan has been making loud running noises for two years now, but is now quite! :D :D :D ;)

Yep, take it down to the garage, open it up and give it a good blast with an airline to get rid of the dust. :y

If the PSU fans noisy Lizzie a short blast of WD40 through back onto shaft usually cures it ;)
