read it here

http://www.havant.gov.uk/housing-and-council-tax-benefit/changes-council-tax-benefit

The Council Tax Support Scheme
Havant Borough Council's new scheme, called the Council Tax Support Scheme, will cut the benefits bill and protect the most vulnerable people in society.

The new system will ask working age households to pay at least 8.5 per cent of their Council Tax. Changes will also be made to the Council Tax discounts on second homes and empty properties.

The new scheme will see:

- working age households will pay at least 8.5% Council Tax. Those with disabilities will be unaffected and their benefits will not change
- the second homes Council Tax discount of 10% will be removed
- the current discount for unoccupied unfurnished properties will be removed, and owners of these properties will have to pay the full Council Tax
- the Council Tax on properties that have been empty for more than two years will increase by 50%

In daves eyes it is no longer your home.its your house for now...(why bother doing it up)

imagine mam dad and 2 kids in a 3 bed (1 girl 1 boy) teenagers..one of the kids move out.. now you must down grade or pay up..
dad got made redundant and cannot get a job..now you must pay bedroom tax.

sorry we cannot afford too,so we will move to a smaller house.

sorry but we have no 2 bedroom houses..its a long waiting list

a lot of this is due to the foreigners coming into this country ima

we have a lack of houses/jobs.cos of all these leaders opening the doors

have you noticed how dave is keeping friendly with the OAP cos they are living longer, they can sit in there 3 bed home for ever cos they are living longer

if you have teenagers of both sexes you dont have to pay it because its against the law to have oposite sex kids in the same bedroom over the age of 11

Yes. A cruel and ill-thought-out piece of legislation.

The ‘bedroom tax’ is not actually a tax. Rather, it is a reduction in the amount of housing benefit paid to those who — according to the local authority — have spare capacity in their homes. :y
The Poll Tax was never a tax either, it was a 'Community Charge' ;D  Furantur a pauperes Utro modo potes.
