What sort of MPG are you getting, and with what sort of driving?  Hard, or slow?  and long or short trips?

Is there any juddering, or missfire?  water can drip through the scuttle, wetting the plugs causing a miss.

Is the CAT original, or pattern?

any recent service work that could help point a finger?

Have you read / had the codes read anywhere?  if so what have you got?  you can attempt the pedal trick to read codes as shown in my sig...but it is highly unlikely to do anything on a 2.2 unfortunately.

as far as i'm aware the CAT is original and was changed in Nov 2012, there is a slight judder but not much and not for very long, no misfiring at all. No recent service work according to the paperwrk that i have.

a mate did a codescan earlier today but unfortunately it didn't read anything, though after he hooked it up the light went off. however it has since come back on  :'(

fuel consumption is about 19.14 mpg, i've used the car mostly for travelling to and from work which is roughly 3 miles either way, today i drove it out to my mates garage roughly 60 mile round trip, engine is really quiet and the car is really lively, top speed today was 80mph

Just a thought but I'm now getting 23/4 mpg from cold on a 4 mile trip.

I was getting 18/19 mpg with a Chinese MAF in, rough starting from both hot and cold, EML on and standard MAF related codes

I've just changed the ECU temperature sender. Now no rough starting and put my original MAF in. I still have the EML on and will be checking the codes and repairing the exhaust tomorrow. Also going to unplug the battery for a while which will hopefully clear the codes and give me fresh one's no doubt.

Only other problem I have now is she's slow to react when I boot it and pinks which she wasn't before.

The ECU temp sender was £15 from Eurocar parts. But it might solve one of your problems  :y

Hope this helps
