I would appreciate some help from a Mondeo owner... I am abroad driving a Ford Mondeo 2007 (old shape, I believe it is Mk II). It has a 4-cyl petrol engine, not sure about the size (1.8?).

The problem is that the cigarette lighter does not work, i.e. no power to the socket, so my satnav is out of action... I had a look at the fuse box in the engine compartment, but none of the symbols looks like a cigi lighter...

If anyone has a Mondeo, I would appreciate it you could look it up in the owners manual and let me know which fuse number I should be looking at?

Not sure if this is for same model as yours, but it might help.

"The central fuse box is behind the glove box. Open the glove box, pull in the sides and remove the glove box. There's a map to the fuses on the side of the glove box, the cigarette lighter one is on the second row from the top, second one in from the left. Just pull it out and replace."

i`ve been to bovington a few times an i cant quite believe how big they actually are in real life and i`ve seen em out an about round by donnigton they can really get sum speed up cant they?? i`d love to have a go a driving one and might try to talk the missus into it for me birthday... or i might just join the T.A.....

I drive command a very small one....relatively....but I was at Bovvy with the new version of the 432 (known as the Bulldog) and that goes fast!  'Cruising' at 45mph looking out of the turret with my goggles on.... awesome, mind you in Bovvy the locals dont give a damn about the fact they are fighting for road space with a 16 tonne tank!  Fair play!

You might enjoy driving one around Bovington ... but 4 months driving one in the "sandpit" might change your opinion .. just slightly !!!

You might enjoy driving one around Bovington ... but 4 months driving one in the "sandpit" might change your opinion .. just slightly !!!

6 months a pop and just a couple of whiz-bangs every now and then..... off to Afghan next year and cant wait

They would have to take out the secret bowman communication equipment we arent allowed to show anyone...... made by ........ the Chinese!

Well after breaking the glove compartment hinges while trying to remove it   and finding nothing except for the heater blower fan motor, I realised that the problem may be because the car is LHD... and sure enough the fuse box was found behind a small storage bin under the light switch on the driver's side (left) of the dash... so one broken hinge later we now have satnav. The car is rented, so hopefully they won't kick up a fuss about the broken hinge
