Potato Crisps
« on: 14 May 2013, 13:11:01 »

Is it just me, or is anybody else fed up with less than crisp crisps?.

The bags seem properly sealed  but still the f***ing things don't seem to have any crunch.

Mrs Opti tells me they cook the spuds differently these days, and that according to her is the problem.

Any ideas or conspiracy theory?.

If you like tasty and crunchy ... try these ... baked pitta chips .. Black pepper ones are very nice, but the sourcream ones are simply moorish !!

My sentiments exactly >:(
Got a packet from the cupboard last night....the bag weighed more than the crisps. As you say total, rip off....pay Lineker less and give us some more value for money

Partial to a bag of 'REAL' crisps myself, especially the ham & English mustard flavour. Still crispy enough to make a hole in the roof of your mouth and plenty in the bag ;)

Well firstly the shelf stackers often squash as many as they can onto the shelf, resulting in crisp fragments not whole crisps, resulting in reduced "crunch sensation"

Secondly, the do gooders are now want traffic lights and fat/calorie quantities on packs so the crisp producers are reducing the fat content so that they can say "reduced fat" or whatever. less fat = less crunch.

Longer shelf life to save money, but increased probablility of sogginess

Hula-Hoops are sabotaging crisp production

(I will wait for CEM to tell us that we should not eat any of these things anyway)
