Won't start!!

Car started fine last night, went to start today as taking for it's MOT retest and it won't start.!  >:(

It's turning over fine and the battery has plenty of juice.  I disconnected the battery last night to clamp it down properly, reconnected it and put the codes in for the stereo, and it started again fine when I took it out of the garage. Now it won't go this morning.....  >:(

Any ideas?

Got it going this morning! What a PITA/Sods Law etc  ::)

Don't really know what the problem was, but the car is parked on a steep hill facing up and when I turned her around so she was facing downwards, away she went!!  :)  Had just less than 1/4 of a tank of petrol, but often has less than this due to the LPG, and never a problem.  The only thing I can think of is that I started her very briefly last night to put her in the garage for a quick tinker and then again started briefly to park back on the hill and maybe didn't give enough running time to pull fresh petrol through..  :-\

Anyway, the upshot was that I was late to the garage and they'd started another job when I got there, so they didn't finish her today.  Maybe  it's an omen or she was trying tell me something!  :-\  ::)

I had a similar thing not long back and that ended up being crank sensor  ::)

Is it an estate ? These seem to need a lot of petrol in the tank to start them when parked on a slope.

Happened again today!  >:(  So I think you guys were right and it's probably the crank sensor!  :(

I changed it about 18 months ago and it was probably a cheap one....  ::)  but I can't remember rightly..  :-\

Do they tend to go intermittently? As I've done a bit of running around in her today and she's been fine and then I jumped in and she wouldn't start!! So after trying for a while with no success I abandoned her and went and had a ice cream on the seafront to calm down.  When I got back she started first time!!  ::)

Owning an Omega is a bit like having a second wife really isn't it??  ::)  :D  ;D

Yep,often starts as an intermittent probem,then becomes permanent at the worst possible moment. ;)
