I had a Home Hub 3. I phoned up to get a Home Hub 4 and all it required was signing up to a new contract period. :y :y

Edit: I just remembered that I am on BT Infinity, so that may make a difference. :-\

couple of clicks lets you buy one for £35 iirc.

Yours may already be faulty....Set up some port forwarding and test it...if it doesnt work ring em up and ask for an improved model (may just get HH3 rev B though)

The kids were experiencing a few drop-outs on the Wi-Fi with the HH3 but, thus far, the dual-band HH4 seems to be working fine as I haven't heard a peep from them. (I use the cabled LAN). :y

That's me sold then  :y

Going by a few forums the iPhone 5 will work better on the HB4 hopefully true as its almost faster on 3G over WiFi when there's a strong 3G signal..

Is your HH3 rev A or B?

Ive had B, and had no probs with dropouts, or speed on various devices incuding iphone 5's
Had a rev A as a warrenty replacement (unneeded but they inisted)  lasted a matter of hours before it went back and I got another rev B out of them.

in that case, set up port forwarding, pick a port like 21 (ftp) and tell it to forward to your pc.
disable your firewall in windows
then run a port scan ( http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/port-scan/ )
when it scans port 21, and doesnt find it open, you know your router is faulty...now ring bt to complain ;)
tell them you want to run a server but cant as the HH is not forwarding properly.  they should replace it...what with, however is anyones guess, could be the rev b model, or could be a 4.
