I like this , well always have liked the P6 . A bit of tlc and she would be back on the road  :-\

Love the space in the engine bays in older cars, sooooo much room to work in. Really makes you question spending £10k + on a car you cannot service yourself

+1  :y My uncle bought one at auction many years back , he owned it 3 yrs and all he replaced on it was the radiator . Driving it back from the auction i got the bug to own one but havent had the chance yet  :y

where :D :D :D :D I have to undo mounts and lift engine up too do plugs :D ;D ;D-but autobox got dipstick :y :y :y

2.2 is ok , just like the one we took back from auction . Its on the wish list and has been for many yrs .. :y

I could never decide between a W116 SEL, a W126 SEL or a W140 SEL, still can't  :-[ so have yet to buy one...

One day I will own one of these though...

I confess I know little about the Wxxx numbers of Merc's  :-[

Just something about that link i posted, the coupes, they just look retro cool to me. Well proportioned.

Been browsing forums, apparently like my 2.2, you don't need a jack or stands for oil changes, they were built then when mercs we mercs and everything was over-engineered.

So a Coupe with plenty of poke, easy DIY work, parts apparently even from Merc are well priced. Bullet proof engines  :)

yep easy to do as rover is probably only 4 door saloon that is 50/50 weight distribution-most are 65/45 :y
