CCR2006 Removal (almost there!)
« on: 30 July 2013, 12:45:05 »

So I finally have the CCR 2006 out - I think it must have been the connectors that were holding it as they pulled through the back of the cage and came out with the radio.

Now I can't get the cage out - it comes half way and they is stuck solid. I can't see any further tags etc - what am I doing wrong?

Ok, cage is out :-)

Now I have this mess:

To me it looks like something aftermarket that I can do without - or is it something GM and essential that I need?

I would say that's probably a good call!

Yes - some more tracing looks to be old hands free kit. All gone now.

Next question is what to replace with now? Are there any working CCR2006 units still around?

If not is there a modern HU that will still work with steering wheel and screen in the Omega?

Yes, certain Kenwood units do this, but you need to source one that has both the steering wheel output AND external display output AND the correct autoleads adaptor, which I have somewhere when I can find it  :)
