Oof premises.
« on: 05 August 2013, 22:59:04 »

Bah. I'm really pushing the realms of what's possible with this one I know, but....

What's the odds of securing a basic work shop with a lift for Oof members?

( ;D ok ok you can stop laughing now ;D )

We'd have to chip in to cover costs, a monthly amount maybe, I guess. And someone to count the beans. ...and look after a key.

But those minor inconveniences aside.... ?  Well it doesn't hurt to ask, does it ? :) ;D

Well....if they can cart Mobile homes around on the back of a lorry...why don't we get a mobile workshop, and get it transported to wherever ;D ;D :y

My son has a backup workshop that is'nt being used after their main premises were refurbed,it has a lift which struggles very slightly with the Omega but works OK,the yard could do with a tidy up but would hold at least a dozen cars easily,it's in Staines Middlesex and would make an ideal meeting spot for south eastern members.BUT now comes the the bit that will scare us off :o The rent is £1200 per month which would high light the fact that any where down this end of the country would cost an arm/ leg plus the odd kidney.
Great idea...but unless there's someone amongst us that has a spare workshop kicking around it's going to be a struggle to make this one fly :'(

Out of interest.. how big is it for £1200/mo? Interior space, that is (you already gave a good idea of how big the yard is if it can fit a dozen cars).. I've often wondered about renting a premises like that but never had the cajones to call a commercial lettings agency to find out  :-[

Two good size bays, second one is stud partitioned into two parts and currently used for tyre storage, but the yard is really big and when they clear the dead cars etc I think that it would hold perhaps another six cars,I could'nt give exact dimensions but it's a very practical space and I guess to the right person who has that sort of money they would have a ready made business as my son's place is turning away so much servicing/mechanical work,I would say that you could live on what they turn away. :y
