Hello

Thinking about buying the wife a 2.6 V6 Omega Registered November 2001 on a 51 plate.

Anyone know what the CO2 emmissions are and therefore how much roadtax I will pay, when the new stealth road tax comes in 2008?

The owner says its exempt, but I know my own 3.2 estate registered July 2001 (Y) with according to the Log Book CO2 286g/km is in the highest band, so I'll pay over £400 next year (theft)

It's going to be up there around the £400 mark, as I understand it, being a few months too young!

Isnt everyone getting a little pi***d off getting ripped off left right and centre . With fuel prices only ever going to go higher and the government screwing us all over with ever higher road tax ! .. I cant wait for the day when the normal poeple of this country say enough is enough ...roll on the revolution

When does the new tax come into play. Which month in 2009?

My road tax runs out in end January 2009. Do you know if I have to pay the £440 or will it still be £205. What month does the Grand Theft Auto begin?  :-/

Just had a 2nd look at the V5 doc. Its definately 286

Still don't know currently what month in 2009 new road tax laws take effect from.

What P's me off is the fact that an auto is often in a higher group than its manual version (wife's Astra is auto & will be paying £270  ). Surely if it's based on CO2 emmisions then it's the engine that's producing the CO2, not the transmission!
