Mostly boilers in dark cupboards, I think 3800 lumens cant be right, if it is no wonder batteries only last 5 mins. X21 1600 lumens, nothing can match, but then thats to be expected seeing it the same cost as a Mig ;D

It uses 2 x 18650 3.7v batteries......the batteries that came with it are 3800mAh and last 5 mins.....i have some 18650 3.7 batts that are 3200mAh....they last 30-40 mins from fully charged  :y ....so its a problem with the batts......dont forget its got 3 x led bulbs.... :y

PS if your using your torch for boilers in the dark......then 3800l torch would be too bright....i go walking HollyDog in the woods with mine....lighting up the woods its fine for  :y ..... tho im careful not to shine it in her eyes....when i turn to look back for her i shine it upwards....to avoid her eyes  :y

After reading this thread, I've decided that I, too, would like a silly-bright torch.
So I'm gonna mount one of the HIDs from my MV6 in a box, and connect it to a 12V motorbike battery.

when I was in my early teens, I used to have a motorbike headlight + battery that I used to use for lamping - carried it miles every night.
Think I could manage something a bit heavier now.
A 160Ah truck battery might be a bit overkill tho  ;)

There must be better and lighter alternatives nowadays, I recently bought an LED bulb for an older style torch, what a difference, my 6 cell Maglight is next for conversion....... :y :y

There was 25 years ago as well - handheld halogen spotlamps which were (IIRC) about 25 quid. Designed to plug into cig lighter, so still needed m/bike battery.
Think I paid about 3 quid for the headlamp, and 6 or 8 quid for the battery
