Poor Intermittent Idle
« on: 03 November 2013, 18:11:35 »

My 3.0 V6 has a poor intermittent idle when starting. This clears when warm and running.

I changed the Idle Control Valve after checking hoses etc. But problem persists :-\

Then noticed that the idle is poor when there is a wining noise coming from the front passenger side of the car. Underneath the bumper and floor tray.

When this wining stops (sounds like an electric pump) there is a popping and what sounds like the release of air. Like a compressor finishing charging something up.

Following this, the car idles fine.

So what is causing this problem? That when it finishes, the car idles perfectly? :-\

I am lost!

Many thanks

Andy

Thanks guys.

None of the hoses appear to be leaking.

AC is off and it still happens.

There is what sounds like a motor running then clicks and a expulsion of air.

Any thoughts? :-\

Cheers
