Lloyd's Bank
« on: 11 December 2013, 13:35:07 »

I had an account with these mongrels once and a minor discretion on my over draft resulted in major charges being applied by central collections dept, a ruined holiday and a long a drawn out compensation case that cost them nearly 1k.

H applied for a job as a customer facing financial advisor "just to see" what they where offering. Nothing except massive un reachable targets and dismissal if your targets where not reached. I kid you not.

Obviously she didn't take the job.  :-X

Now we see this little gem...

If you have an account with Lloyd's, do yourself and Lloyd's a favour. Move it elsewhere. I'd suggest Hsbc as the least worst, but that would probably bring a load of stories on its own.

Lloyd's. Scum of the earth.  >:(

Not outraged by the way, although I was back when I had an account with Lloyd's ;)

To date of the big 4 sharks banks, I have found HSBC to be the best, but it all relative of course from a very low base.  :( :(

Hsbc do make mistakes, and seem to honour their word when rectifying them ....the most basic of tasks, actually doing what they themselves SAY they will do. Which is almost unheard if these days.

Lloyd's however, just beyond words. As the fine suggests.

Spoke with Santander today as it happens. Having been out of work since January money's tighter than a ducks chuff round here. I live very close to £0 in my account and very occasionally I might just go the wrong side of £0, but never by more than a couple of quid.

Well last month I had £70 disappear out of my account leaving me £69.33 overdrawn. I ran them and admitted that yes I had made an oversight but was there anything they could do, using my nicest, friendliest tone I could muster. Amazingly he looked into my history and saw that I was indeed struggling and agreed to return the charges on a case of financial hardship. He also told me I was due to be charged again in December and that he would cancel those too.

Well today I got charged a further £15 so I called them again and explained what happened. First bloke said hard luck basically, second bloke apologised but said they would not reverse the charge, then getting a bit irate I asked to speak to a manager. He came on and immediately realised they had made a cock up and reversed the charge. It's a pity I had to perservere like that but it shows don't believe what the first oik tells you and if your sure your right then just go straight to the top.

Cheers all

Once had real problems with Abbey National that was, which ended up with them refunding £2K of bank charges. I stayed with them though and through to the change to Santander.

However my current 123 Santander account I have no problems with, as for a charge of just £2 per month they are actually paying me interest on my balance, plus cash back on all my direct debit paid bills!

Lovely jubley!! ;D ;D ;D :y :y
